We are very pleased to announce that Xiaoxi Ji and Yao Guo successfully defended their Ph.D. dissertation.

Xiaoxi Ji has been a Ph.D. student of School of Mathematics Sciences, and Centre for Computational Systems Biology, Fudan University since 2011. She is under the supervisior of Prof. Jianfeng Feng. Her main research interest is to address a few problems arouse in the field of big data-driven biomarker discovery, using a series of multi-scale mathematical modeling and statistical analysis. During her Ph.D. study, she has published papers in international journals including Frontiers in systems neuroscience, Chaos, etc. In cooperation with the Europe IMAGEN Consortium, she has achieved an imaging-genetic analysis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) disease. She will be engaged in mathematical and statistical analysis related work after graduation. Her doctoral dissertation is entitled a Study on Big Data-driven Biomarker Discovery.

Yao Guo is one Ph.D. student of School of Mathematics Sciences, and Centre for Computational Systems Biology, Fudan University. He is under the supervisor of Professor Wei Lin, and graduates in June, 2014. His primary research focuses on dynamical systems and nonlinear sciences. During his Ph.D. study, one of his papers was accepted and published in New Journal of Physics. After graduation, he will start his post-doctoral research in York University, Canada. His doctoral dissertation is entitled the Stability Analysis of Randomly Switching Systems and its Applications.
