The Centre for Computational Systems Biology at Fudan University, Shanghai, China has several faculty and postdoctoral positions available. Michael Waterman, Fengzhu Sun and Christian Reidys joined the center recently significantly expanding the research areas to molecular sequence analysis, statistical genomics and RNA structure in addition to the existing strengths in neuroimaging, image genomics and evolution lead by David Waxman and Jianfeng Feng. There are extensive collaborations with the Schools of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Biological Sciences at Fudan University and various hospitals. The candidates will work closely with the principal investigators on various current active topics of research within the group and/or exploring new frontiers in computational biology and bioinformatics. For more details about the group, please see

Candidates with PhD in computational biology and bioinformatics, statistics, applied mathematics, and computer science with an interest in biological and medical problems are encouraged to apply. Strong backgrounds in probability and statistics, machine learning, combinatorics, and/or optimization are preferred. Prior experience dealing with large scale genomic, imaging, and RNA structure data is a strong plus.

Interested candidates should submit complete CV, a cover letter stating research accomplishments and interests, and names and contact details of three referees to Michael S Waterman (, Prof. Fengzhu Sun ( or Prof. Christian Reidys ( according to the candidates’ research interests.
