Abstract:
In the talk, I first briefly present properties of the classical fixed point index for compact maps defined on cones in Banach spaces and then compute the fixed point indices for some Hammerstein integral operators. Results on the existence of one or several positive solutions for Hammerstein integral equations are derived from these results of fixed point indices. Finally, I apply these existence results to some fractional differential equations with twopoint boundary conditions, some of which arise in physics and applied mathematics.
